 Attention Senior Parents

You should have received the e-mail detailing all you need to know for graduating senior recognition ads for the BLHS Veritas Yearbook. The deadline for senior ad submission is Friday, December 1, 2017 by 4 p.m. in room 133. If you mail in your submission, please allow time for the US Mail to deliver and still meet the deadline. Also, if you deliver via your graduating senior, please make sure they did remember to drop it off in room 133. Sometimes that form of delivery can have fulfillment challenges! A few things to note:

1. Ads MUST be received in complete form – the e- receipt, the signed contract, the hi-resolution images on a thumb drive. We cannot accept piecemeal submissions as it lends itself to error. Please refer to the checklist included on the contract.

2. Images must be at least 300 dpi. You CANNOT make a digital original photo that is a lower resolution into a higher resolution.

3. The Veritas Yearbook Staff will create the ads! All you have to do is send us the images and the working. We will do the rest!

Thank you for your support of the BLHS Veritas yearbook program!

 SAGE Standard

Scratch cooking, using fresh, wholesome, local, and campus-grown ingredients where possible.

· When we cook from scratch, we know exactly what’s in our food. We know the protein and produce are fresh; we can avoid the use of preservatives; and we can make substitutions for common allergens.

· We purchase from more than 800 local and regional suppliers; and the list is growing!

· Local purchasing reduces the amount of gasoline used in transporting food, and the amount of preservatives necessary to keep food fresh in transit. It also supports the local economy by keeping schools’ money within their students’ communities.

· Over 150 of our venues have on-site gardens or farms; in many locations, SAGE helps with planting, upkeep, and harvesting in addition to incorporating the produce into seasonal meals.

· On-campus gardening and farming offer academic and physical enrichment for students by serving as a focus for science classes, volunteer and extracurricular work, independent research and experimentation, and community enrichment.

The SAGE Standards are our promise to you. They’re what you can expect every time you eat in the dining hall. These standards support the health of your community, your environment, and your local economy. Full article:

Financial Aid 2018/2019
The FACTS financial aid application for the 2018-2019 school year is now open. We encourage all of our families (and potential families) to apply. In order to be considered for financial aid, below is a list of the required documents for Bishop Lynch High School:

2016 Tax return
2016 W-2s
2017 W-2s

To be considered for Bishop Lynch financial aid, applications must be completed with FACTS by February 14, 2018. This means your documents must be uploaded by this date in order for FACTS to have enough time to verify your documents and change your application status to complete. The Financial Aid Committee will not review incomplete applications. We welcome families to start their application early so when the February due date comes around all you have to do is upload your 2017 W-2s to complete your application.

Please keep in mind that the Diocese will also review your application. Listed below are the requirements and deadlines to be considered for Diocese financial aid:

Standard requirements are that they must complete an application including the submission of all required supporting documentation no later than April 1, 2018. Supporting documentation required includes their 2017 federal income tax return, including supporting schedules (e.g. C, E, D, K-1, etc. if applicable), and ALL related 2017 W-2 forms included on line 7 of the return.

If they do not file a tax return, they must submit some form of documentation that indicates/supports how they are living, i.e. being supported, e.g. food stamps, disability, Social Security, child support, letters from employers, etc.

If they apply and submit all of their documentation no later than 12/31/17, they may use their 2016 tax return and forms W-2 for their supporting documentation but their applications and documentation must be absolutely complete by the 12/31/17 deadline. If not, they may still complete their application by 04/01/18 but must use the 2017 tax return and forms W-2 instead.

If you have any questions, please contact Betsy Arciniega at or 214-324-3607 ext. 4104.
