Clubs and Organizations

Getting involved in clubs and organizations can be one of the high points of your high school life, as you meet other students with similar interests and share experiences. Working on a project together builds lasting friendships and opportunities to gain and exercise leadership skills.

There are a variety of clubs and organizations in which to become involved while you attend Bishop Lynch High School. You will find listed below those clubs, along with the type of organization. To find out how to join a particular club, simply click on the name.

If you share a strong interest in a hobby or subject with several friends or fellow students, you might want to consider forming a new club.

Educational Clubs & Organizations

Art/Photo Club Club for students interested in learning more about art and photography. Includes school projects and field trips. 
Bi-Partisan Club Political education organization that promotes debates and thought talk, evaluates political campaigns, and participates in conventions.
Creative Writing Organization for students interested in strengthening and sharing their creative writing skills. 
French National Honor Society Honor Society for students who have attained academic success in their French language studies.
German Honor Society Delta Epsilon Phi - Honor Society for students who have attained academic success in their German language studies.
History Honor Society Rho Kappa Honor Society for students who have attained academic success in their studies of American and World History.
Latin National Honor Society Organization for students participating in Latin classes with a focus on community service and promotion of the Latin language. 
LULAC Educational and political organization that raises awareness for issues affecting the Hispanic population within America. Activities include social events and volunteer opportunities. 
Mock Trial Participates in mock trial competitions both regionally and nationally.
Mu Alpha Theta Organization of academically-successful students that includes club projects and frequent math competitions. 
Multicultural Club Club that honors the variety of cultures of our students through festivals, dinners, and Ethnic Week activities. 
National English Honor Society Organization of selected academically-distinguished students that participate in various service and tutoring activities. 
National Honor Society Organization of selected academically-distinguished students that participate in various service and tutoring activities. 
Shakespeare Society Increases student knowledge of Shakespearian literature through discussion and attendance of performances, and showcases student knowledge through annual competition. 
Spanish National Honor Society Honor Society for students who have attained academic success in their Spanish language studies.
TAPPS Academic Organization of eligible students who wish to compete academically at the District and State levels.
TAPPS Art Organization of eligible students who wish to complete art projects for submission to the annual TAPPS Art competition.


Entertainment Clubs & Organizations

Chess Club Open to students who wish to strengthen their skills through participation in chess matches and tournaments. 
Film Club A club that increases knowledge and appreciation of film-making and cinematography through film studies, screenings, and lectures.
Spirit Squad Club that promotes school spirit by increasing crowd participation at pep rallies and athletic events. 
Musicians Club A club for students who wish to showcase and strengthen their talents through playing musical instruments. 
Table Tennis A just-for-fun club for students wishing to participate in table tennis matches and tournaments. Open to all skill levels. 


Fine Arts Clubs & Organizations

Drama Club An Entertainment and competitive Club for students who wish to learn more about theater.


BL Outreach Ministries

Amigos de la Finca & Mission Trip This student organization works to raise funds for the "Finca del Nino" orphanage in Trujillo, Honduras. Select students and faculty also participate in an annual mission trip to Finca del Nino or another location in need.
Brady Center Thanksgiving Food Drive An annual initiative to collect food to restock the shelves at the Brady Center food pantry, just in time for the holidays. 
For Our Children This organization, strives to provide a healthy and promising future for homeless or neglected children by inspiring and preparing them to live a life filled with hope and promise. Service opportunities include Saturday with Santa, Summer Day Camp, Back to School Supply Drive, and volunteering as an office angel.  
Faculty Christmas Stewpot Shoebox Ministry Annual collection of toiletries and other necessities, packaged in plastic "shoe boxes" and distributed to the homeless at Christmas time. 
Habitat for Humanity A nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.
New Beginnings Baby Supply Drive Annual collection of baby supplies to help the women and children of the New Beginnings shelter. 
Truett Back to School Supply Drive Annual collection of school supplies and other necessities for neighboring Truett Elementary 


Service Clubs & Organizations

BL Ambassadors Welcome new and potential BL students through participation in Freshman Friar Camp, BL Sunday, and many other activities.
Book Club Fosters a love of books by reading to the students of neighboring Truett Elementary.
Environmental Awareness Club Proactively participate in making BL a "greener" place by collecting recycling and raising awareness of environmental issues. 
Eucharistic Ministers Participate in spiritual formation activities, assist with the setup of all-school masses, and distribute communion.
Music Ministry Organization granting students the opportunity to prepare music for school liturgies and other performances. 
Forever Pink Host fund raisers like "Pink Hair for Hope," raffles, and other activities to support breast cancer awareness and research. 
Pro-Life Club Participate in a variety of pro-life activities and projects aimed at raising awareness of the importance of preserving the sanctity of life. 
Student Council Provide leadership and support to the student body and community through social functions and service opportunities. 
Student Foundation Organization that provides numerous opportunities throughout the year for students to satisfy service requirements.


Sports and Fitness

Bass Club Recreational club for those enthusiastic about Bass fishing. Activities include tournament participation.
Bowling Credit course. Compete on the BL Friars bowling team.
Lacrosse Recreational club for lacrosse players; competes in the North Texas Women's High School Division.
