Theresa Kathryn Klein Smith '77 Scholarship

Theresa “Terri” Kathryn Klein Smith was born in Dallas in 1959 and graduated from Bishop Lynch in 1977. An honor student at Bishop Lynch, Terri attended the University of North Texas after graduation where she earned the high distinction of magna cum laude with both her bachelor and master’s degrees in tax accounting.

After graduation, she worked as a licensed CPA in both Texas and Missouri working for Arthur Anderson, Grant Thornton, and Corptax, Inc. Terri lived a life of service teaching young college graduates at work, helping them as they started their careers. Those who knew her describe her as” the sweetest girl in the world,” “wonderful lady,” “a smile to light up the room,” “upbeat nature’
“wonderful smile’” “utmost professionalism, inspiration to all who knew her,” “wonderful laugh, honor and privilege to work with her,” passion for service made other’s lives better every day,” ”easy laugh and a smile in her voice, “ “will miss her smile, sharp wit, and engaging personality,” will miss her expertise, camaraderie, and smile,” “one of the kindest people I have ever met.”

Her husband, Ken, has established a scholarship in her name that will continue her legacy of generosity, selflessness and service to others. Theresa’s memory is carried forward in the form of financial assistance to deserving Bishop Lynch students.
